About Us

Helping YOU get your dream job in tech!

Hack the Path was founded in December of 2024 by Linda J. Garcia and Richard S. Edwards at UC Merced. They both have known each other since their freshman year at the university, but reconnected at a professional development event where they found that they had similar passions in helping others achieve their dreams in tech.

Professional Development

Hack the Path offers a number of tools, resources, and more to help you prepare for your next step. Whether you’re looking to brighten your resume, craft your elevator pitch, reach out to recruiters, or build a personal brand, we’re here to help.

Networking

Networking is one of the keys to success in this industry. Take it from Linda, one of our co-founders who got her job through LinkedIn. Your network will help you find opportunities or even create some of your own. We’re here to provide guidance for navigating conferences, events, and more.

Mentorship

Our leads and mentors offer free mentorship sessions to our members. Simply open a ticket or use one of the schedule links to register for a mentorship session. We also have forum posts you can use to get ongoing feedback.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide guidance for those who are new to the field. Whether you’re a first-generation student, first in your family to pursue a tech degree, making a career change, or just don’t know where to go, we want to be the helping hand you need. Our founders are both first-generation and minorities in the industry who needed to figure everything out on their own. We want to be the people we were missing when we were navigating this process early in our careers.

Work with us

Hack the Path is constantly looking for new mentors and guests. Whether you want to host a workshop, share a resource, or become one of our mentors, we’d love to have you join us! Send us an email at hackthepath@gmail.com or join our Discord and open a ticket and let’s help shape the future!
